Women. I swear I should shoot myself and end the misery. Damn shrew...can you stop yelling in my ear for one blasted minute? You keep screaming so much I'm going to go deaf. I already can't see for shit without my damn glasses or contacts. Mendokuse.

She threw my cigarettes out the window, and proceeded to bitch about bad habits. Troublesome woman. I never get a moments peace in this house. If she's not nagging at me, then it's at the old man. The at school it's being surrounded by screaming girls, hanging out at thier lockers fawning over the boy of the week. We can safely say....I'm never on that list. Feh.

Teachers, just as troublesome as the women. Damn Asuma. I spent more time correcting your errors than filling in the answers to the questions. Get out your history book. You need it.



Shikamaru slammed the stack of papers down on Asuma's desk. It was finished. Not to mention all the hell he went through to correct the teacher's mistakes, which was more than it should have been.


Asuma quickly snubbed out his cigarette, hoping Shikamaru hadn't seen him puffing away. The last thing he needed was the kid snitching on his bending of the no smokin gon campus policy. "That your homework?"

"What does it look like?" he said in a severe, dark tone. He laid his hand down on the stack. "Maybe next time you should correct your errors before handing out homework."

He arched a dark eyebrow, scratching his chin. "Errors, eh? Well, kid, then I should expect full marks from these papers, and the other batch you owe me."

Shikamaru's lip curled. "Other...there's more?"

"Shit soldier, you thought you were off the battlefield already?" Asuma joked with a grin, leaning back in his chair. "That was the beginning of the quarter stuff. You are far from being done here."

"Fuck..." he slipped out.

"Let's keep it G-rated, kid," he chided lightly, slamming down a whole New Testament's worth of homework.

"When's this winning entry due?" he asked flatly.

"Postmarked by Feb 8th, no purchase necessary," the teacher deadpanned with a twitchy smirk. He sort of enjoyed having genius-boy under his thumb.

"I'm guessing a late fee is insured if I don't get it in by then?"

"No, but your entry will be disqualified."

"Can't have that now can we?" he said giving him a sarcastic, less than pleased grin.

"Not if you want to win the big prize of the college scholarship, and the job of your dreams," he said, tapping his red correcting pen on the desk as he surveyed the work cut out for him. "Unless you want to end up with a shit job like this, teaching little smart asses what deadlines mean."

"That or showing up professors that don't know thier shit..." he said grabbing the stack of papers.

Asuma looked down at the papers, and then snorted. "You forgot to write your name at the top. There goes ten points..."

Shikamaru grabbed a pen out from his back pocket. "Ass..." he mumbled as he chicken scratched his name in the corner upside down.

Asuma nudged his second stack with one hand, muttering "So go already and get this done. I don't get paid overtime to correct all the crap you turn in late."

"Maybe I should get paid for all the mistakes you made carelessly..." he said grumbling taking the stack and heading out the door.

"Maybe you should do your job as a student, and let me do mine as a teacher, smartass!" He groused at his back, getting to work. He already knew that he wouldn't need his correcting pen, but he wouldn't set it aside and mark him with full points until he knew Shikamaru was out the door.
